You don't have to have it all figured out...

You might be feeling…

  • overwhelmed by information and not sure what applies to you

  • like everyone else has answers, and you don’t

  • anxious about your pregnancy, birth, or postpartum experience

  • unsure what kind of support you actually need

  • alone in your fertility or loss journey

Wherever you are in your journey, you deserve to feel supported, heard, and understood.

Support that meets you where you are...

No two journeys look the same. I offer support that adapts to your needs, your pace, and your preferences.

Fertility & TTC Support

Trying to conceive can feel confusing, emotional, and isolating. I offer support, education, and space to process what you're experiencing.

Childbirth Education

Learn to prepare for birth with confidence. Affordable, interactive classes while I certify, not your typical “lecture-style” class!

Pregnancy & Birth Support

Whether you're feeling excited, anxious, or somewhere in between, I provide calm, continuous support as you prepare for birth.

Postpartum & Newborn Support

The fourth trimester can feel overwhelming. I’m here to support you, not just your baby, as you adjust and recover.

Wherever you are in your journey, you’re welcome here.

About Me

Hi, I’m Kat Thompson

I’m a Certified Fertility & Loss Doula, Full Spectrum Doula, and Childbirth Educator, but more importantly, I understand how complex and emotional this journey can be.

After experiencing infertility, loss, and the uncertainty that comes with trying to grow a family, I realized how much support was missing in many spaces.

There’s often a lot of information… but not always someone to sit with you in it.

That’s why I created Embracing the Journey: to offer support, a bridge between you, your family, and your medical support teams, that is calm, honest, and centred on you, not just on timelines or expectations.

What They’re Saying

"I couldn’t have asked for a better person to be a part of our journey with our son. She was incredibly helpful and always there for us when we needed advice. I would 100% recommend Kat’s services. She has been a lifesaver for us!" - D.B & M.H.

I humbly acknowledge that I reside and operate on Treaty 7 territory—the traditional and ancestral lands of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations), the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda Nations (Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley). This land is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3, within the historical Northwest Métis Homeland.

I recognize and honour the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples who have lived on and cared for these lands for generations. I express my gratitude to the Traditional Knowledge Keepers, Elders — past and present — and the ongoing resilience of Indigenous communities.

As part of my commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, I strive to educate myself, listen, and support Indigenous voices in my work. This includes advocating for culturally respectful care, acknowledging intergenerational trauma, and fostering safe, inclusive spaces for Indigenous families on their fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journeys.
